Company Leadership
Mark Di Tommaso was born and raised in San Diego, CA. Being a San Diego native, he has lived in the communities of Nestor, Scripps Ranch, and Mission Bay Park. Throughout Mark’s entire life, he has only spent three months living away from America’s Finest City. His theory is this: When you live in a place as nice as San Diego…why live anywhere else? After graduating with honors from La Jolla High School, he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego. Being a people person, and not wanting to work in a laboratory, Mark went on to get a teaching credential from San Diego State University. He taught middle school health, science, and French for 6 years.
Although teaching was Mark’s passion, in 2006 he realized that he would need to change careers if he was going to be able to support a family in San Diego. This wasn’t going to happen on a teacher’s salary. Mark decided that he wanted to continue working with, and helping, the public. In 2007, he obtained his real estate broker’s license and began his training in real estate. Of course, this happened to be the beginning of the biggest economic downturn this country has seen since the Great Depression. In order to thrive in real estate, Mark mastered the science of short sales, and successfully closed many real estate transactions for families who were in financial distress.
Southern California Real Estate and Investments, Inc., doing business as SoCal eRealty, was born in 2008. SoCal eRealty is a green brokerage, working to reduce the carbon footprint left by it’s 15 team members. We strive to use electronic signatures on all documents, and only print when necessary.
As the real estate market changes for the better and short sales disappear, Mark’s desire to help people out of bad situations burns ever stronger. He is a proud contributing member of a nationwide group of brokers called REO4Kids, where every transaction involving a home benefits San Diego children.
Mark is the founder of Golden State Property Management, and serves as Broker of Record for the company.
